Financial Umbrella is Now Portside Tax & Accounting

Hi there! We have some exciting news to share.

As of July 15, 2026, Financial Umbrella LLC is moving forward under a new name: Portside Tax & Accounting.

Here's the most important part: nothing about your service is changing. This is a name change, not a change in ownership, team, or how we work with you. You'll be working with the same people you already know and trust, providing the same quality of service you've come to expect. The only things that will look different are our logo and our website address.

Do I need to sign up for anything new or create a new account? Nope! Your existing login, portal, and account information will carry over automatically. Nothing to set up.

Will my old emails and links to Financial Umbrella still work? Yes. Our old website and any links you've saved will automatically forward to our new website — you don't need to update anything.

What's the new website address? www.portside.tax is our new main address. We've also set up portsidetax.com and portsideaccounting.com — all three will bring you to the same site. In addition, financialumbrella.co will continue to work through at least January 2027.

Is this a merger or acquisition — is my accountant leaving? No. This is a name change only — not a merger, acquisition, or change in ownership. Financial Umbrella LLC is simply doing business under a new name. Your accountant and the rest of the team are staying exactly where they are, and you'll continue working with the same people.

Will my fees or services change? No. Your pricing, services, and agreements stay exactly the same.

Will I need to sign any new paperwork? In most cases, no. If anything ever requires your signature down the road, we'll reach out to you directly and walk you through it.

How do I reach you going forward? The same way you always have — everything just carries over. Our email addresses will also continue to work. You may, however, receive emails from Portside domains going forward.

When does this take effect? Officially on July 15, 2026, although you may see some design changes before then. You won't notice any disruption in service before, during, or after the transition.

Why the name Portside? Our firm has always operated along the North Carolina coast, and for years we've served as a kind of financial home port for our clients — a steady place to return to, no matter what's going on with your taxes or your books. Portside captures that idea directly: a place you can always dock and know you're taken care of.
